Why It's Needed

This album carries a theme. Within, you will find transitional material between songs. NOTE: Functions best when listened to in its entirety. If you must buy/listen in single doses, please proceed and enjoy, but you will not experience the true potential of this work.

This album features instrumentation such as: String Quartet, Tuba, Trumpet,Chamber Choir, Electric/Classical and Acoustic guitars, Vocals, Harmonica, Melodica, Piano, B3 Organ, Xylophone, Marimba, Drums and Percussion. It also has some other elements that were captured out side of the studio such as kids playing at Recess (yippeeee),frogs, water jugs, church bells (all of which were recorded live). Boy that was fun!

“Why it’s needed” was inspired by environment and it’s reflection on us. Topically, it touches points such as awareness, curiosity and observation (and why it's needed), childhood happiness (and why it's needed), wilderness and nature (and why it's needed). The exploration and recognition of things that shape us into who we are as individuals and how that affects the grand scheme of things in our environment. Musically, it was an opportunity to create a soundtrack for a story. To let a story unfold by way of new arrangements, tones and techniques. To bring emotion through sound by imagination, perspective and every means possible.
